I have a love-hate relationship with mascaras. As someone who is naturally blonde, I have very light lashes that are simply invisible if I don’t use mascara. But I really struggle finding a product that I like - I have tried expensive (at least to me) Better Than Sex (that flaked like crazy), Benefit (made my eyes tired), and lately Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes (best of the three but still left a black halo under my eyes at the end of the day). I have also tried the popular Unique fiber lashes, but those flaked on me and took way too long to apply.
When people talk about Korean beauty, the focus tends to be on skincare. That makes sense, since healthy skin is the starting canvas for any makeup. But I decided to give their decorative makeup a chance as well and purchased MISSHA Over Lengthening Mascara (Wave Last), available on* eBay, Amazon, and YesStyle.
This mascara is very interesting - it promises to lengthen and define lashes by encapsulating them in an elastic polymer with a smooth, glossy finish. The formula is smudge-proof, yet can be easily removed with water.
How to use:
Position the wand curved side up (to slightly curl the lashes during application)
Apply 1-3 coats to the lashes in an upward zigzag motion
One eye with mascara, one without (you can certainly tell which one is which!):
Both eyes with mascara:
How to remove:
Close your eyes and wet them with warm water
Gently pull off the mascara “tubes” with your fingers
The product that encapsulated your lashes all day will easily come off, without damaging the lashes

My impressions:
I LOVE THIS! Ok, maybe I’m a little bit too excited about it, but I can’t help myself. First of all, the look is just right for me - definitely better than my “real life” lashes, but not over the top or fake looking. I like a more natural appearance. Note that I stick with one coat, but you can do 2 or 3 to achieve the look you want.
I have absolutely 0 flakes, smudges, black “halos” or any irritation, and I’ve been wearing this all day, almost every day, for weeks. I have also cried with it on. The lashes stay looking fine unless you rub them with a tissue. No running black streaks.
The removal really is as easy as the manufacturer says. You don’t have to pull or tug. I just wet my eyes and fingers and gently slide off the product. It’s very fast and leaves no residue. Oh, and the price is less than half of what I was paying for Tarte. Hands down, I would recommend this to anyone! If you’d like to read my other Missha reviews, click here.
