When I ran out of the CosRx cleanser (read the review here), it was time to try something new/ As usual, I prefer a different cleanser for the mornings vs at night. This time, I ordered Laneige Foam Cleanser - Moisture. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone, but hydration is still important, especially when it’s cold (oh yeah, this year we had hail in April!). I work out (and sweat) most mornings, so it’s important to wash that off with something more potent than water but still gentle.
It might be tempting to skip a cleanser in the morning and stick with water, but I don’t recommend that. Even without a sweaty session of weights and cardio, it’s still important to remove any remaining nighttime products from the skin. Left on too long, even the best creams and masks can eventually clog pores. When layering on the steps of a Korean beauty routine, it’s best to start with clean skin.
The only thing I dislike about this product is the color. I’m so not a pink person :)
The cleanser is “officially” for dry to normal skin, but I think it will be fine for all skin types, especially in the winter. It’s made with birch water and contains shea butter and mild fruit acids which gently exfoliate dead skin cells and smooth out the surface. It can be used in the morning or evening.
The product looks like a thick, pink cream. I don’t use any special foaming devices (like this one) simply because the real estate on the bathroom shelves is in high demand. My poor husband’s little corner is even getting invaded by my stuff :) It foams just fine the “normal” way in my hands. Not enough foam to build a snowman, but plenty to get clean. The aroma is delicate and “expensive”, just like in all Laneige products that I’ve tried. The bottle is generous in size (180ml/6fl oz) so should last for some time. I like it quite a bit.
