Purito Snail All in One BB Cleanser Review

Updated: Oct 24, 2020

My skin: combination with an oily t-zone and dry to normal cheeks.

You may or may not know that BB cream (beauty balm, aka foundation with added benefits) doesn’t get fully removed with a foaming cleanser alone. It typically needs a double cleanse (an oil cleanser and then a foaming wash) to truly remove all of the remnants from the pores. I don’t use BB cream daily, but I do use primers and sunscreen which I think can clog pores as much as decorative makeup. So, I try to double cleanse every night, not only on days that I’m all made up. But, sometimes I’m just lazy. All I want is to wash my face as quickly as possible, slap on the rest of the routine and fall face first into the pillow (of course, after everything is absorbed). And then there’s the travel dilemma - hauling around oil and a foaming wash is just cumbersome.

Purito Snail All In One BB Cleanser is designed to completely remove BB creams and other pore clogging debris by itself, without the need for an oil cleanser step. Perfect for those “I can’t even” evenings (and no, sleeping in makeup is never an option, unless it’s after an especially eventful corporate holiday party that I would rather not remember).

The cleanser is available on eBay and Amazon.

In January of this year I spent a week in Germany for work. In desperate attempts to look like a presentable adult every day, I actually wore BB cream and eye makeup to work (as opposed to my typical mascara and powder duo). I took a rather large bag of samples with me that allowed me to keep my skincare routine, discarding the empties as I went. And the evening cleanser of choice was this Purito one. And guess what? After a week of daily makeup and no oil cleansing, I had 0 skin issues, no breakouts, and no clogged pores. So, it really must work just as well as it’s supposed to.

How to use:

  1. Wet the face

  2. Foam about a quarter-size amount of cleanser in your palms

  3. Gently wash the face

  4. Rinse with water, follow with the rest of your routine

Don't get it in your eyes - it will sting.

Active ingredients:

  • Sorean snail secretion filtrate - (ok, I know “snail secretion” doesn’t sound sexy) promotes cell growth and regenerates connective tissues

  • Betaine - moisturizes and promotes elasticity

  • Centella asiatica extract - a soothing and anti-inflammatory component that improves collagen production

  • Lavender extract - soothes and improves elasticity

I like the cleanser. The pump is an easy way to dispense it (I prefer that to the flip-top tubes). The product is a clear gel that foams pretty easily in the palms. The bottle is a generous 250ml (8.45 fl oz). I can’t say I love the smell - it’s fairly unique. At first I disliked it. Now, after having the cleanser for several months, I’m totally used to it and even kind of like it. Anyway, it’s not enough to actually deter me from using the product. The gel cleanses really well, without a squeaky (aka “over-dried”) feeling. I mostly use it in the evenings, but it’s suitable for the morning as well if you prefer to just have one cleanser (I like having a separate morning one). I also wash my makeup blender sponges with it since, again, water or a foaming cleanser alone don’t remove BB cream.

The cleanser is available on eBay and Amazon.

Like all Purito products, this cleanser is made with EWG certified green (safe) ingredients. It’s 10-free, which means it doesn’t contain parabens, mineral oils, paraffin, colorants, ethanol, triethanolamine, benzophenone, phthalates, formaldehyde, BHT.

Purito and Korean store Eopenmarket have generously gifted me this product. As usual, all opinions are my own and honest.
