The Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm contains three types of papaya ingredients and promises smooth, bright, moisturized skin. Glow Recipe says that while papaya enzymes are exfoliating, the formula is gentle enough to use daily. It’s available on Glow Recipe and Amazon.
How to use: Apply to dry face with dry, clean hands and massage
Add a bit of water, massage some more (the formula will emulsify)
Rinse with water
Follow with a foaming cleanser
The happily colored cleansing balm comes in a glass jar. It’s fragrant but the scent doesn’t linger. The gar is glass (my favorite).
My impressions
When I was a teenager, I had blue-magenta hair, tons of earrings (including a tongue ring), ripped up jeans with safety pins down the sides (don’t ask) - I was a budding anarchist. That inner rebel is still alive and well, so I really didn’t want to like the brightly colored, fruity, oh-so-popular Glow Recipe. I always suspected the brand to be over-hyped.
So far, I’m ashamed to admit that I absolutely love it. I looooove it. I love every single thing (three in total) that I’ve had. Dang. May as well go buy a pink dress now.
The papaya cleansing balm is heavenly. I happen to love the scent, the texture, the effectiveness - all of it. It melts under my fingers and envelopes my whole head in a cloud of fragrant relaxation. Makeup and sunscreen are effortlessly removed. The skin is soft, clean, and not stripped. Wow.
This all started when Glow Recipe offered me to test one of their unreleased (at the time) products - review here. They gave me a gift card for my time, and of course I had to spend it. That’s how I ended up with the cleansing balm and the watermelon toner (review of that one is coming).
