Heimish All Clean Balm has been haunting me for a few years - it’s one of the most recommended first cleansers, yet somehow I still have not tried it in full size. Until now. I got my hands on Heimish All Clean Balm original and Mandarin, both available on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Stylevana (code INF10KBH), Olive Young (code KBHOBBIT77), Jolse, iHerb (code CWN6107) and StyleKorean.
Both All Clean Balms start out thick but then melt into oil, removing makeup and excess sebum.
How to use
Scoop out desired amount with included spatula
Gently massage over dry skin
Add water and massage a bit more
Rinse
Follow with a foaming cleanser
The original version has almost no scent (other than a somewhat plasticky one). The mandarin one has a bit of a mandarin aroma over that same plasticky one. Even the original one cannot be considered fragrance free since it contains bergamot, lavender, orange and other essential oils.
My impressions
Both are good cleansing balms; neither is a mind blowing holy grail. The All Clean Balm has a noticeably softer texture and melts a little quicker (my preference). The Mandarin one is firmer but still melts fine, and the scent is different from the original.
Both do a fine job removing makeup, sunscreen, and anything else at the end of the day. I use each version around the eyes with no irritation. My main sticking point is the smell - the mandarin is slightly better, but still somewhat unpleasant because of the underlying notes of the balm’s ingredients.
Overall, I’m glad I finally got to try these balms and see what all the fuss was about. I will happily finish the two tubs I have, but will probably not get them again. Well, I have an extra one in my storage, so I guess after that one I will probably not get them again.
I wish they didn’t have all the essential oils. My skin does fine with them, but that may not be the case for sensitive skin types. Heimish does have travel size minis, which might be a good way to try the balm if someone is worried about a reaction.
