SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Air-fit Suncream Light SPF 30 PA++++ Review

SKIN1004 does a great job promoting their products - they send generous PR packages, participate in giveaways hosted by stores and influencers, and overall spend a lot of effort on advertising. Imagine my surprise when I noticed a new SPF on one of their stories but couldn’t figure out what it was. The tube looked identical to my beloved sun serum but with a brown lid.

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Air-fit Suncream Light SPF 30 PA++++, available on Amazon, YesStyle (reward code KBHOBBIT), Stylevana (code INF10KBH) and Jolse, is a variation of the air-fit sunscreen that comes in a smaller bottle. And for some reason nobody talks about it!

This is a non nano physical sunscreen that promises to protect and brighten the skin. Thankfully, Stylevana sent me a set of SKIN1004 SPFs so I could try all three versions (yes, there’s a third one - stay tuned!).

How to use

  • Apply to exposed areas at the end of skincare

  • Reapply as needed

The formula is creamy but light, easily dispensing out of the pump. I do not notice a scent or a white cast on me. However, when my husband uses it, I notice a tiny bit of white cast on his slightly darker skin. Still, this is much much better than the original air fit formula (which is my HG but makes my spouse look a little bit like a frosted mini-wheat).

The finish starts out somewhat dewy but dries down to a very natural look - not too matte and not too shiny. It’s still a tad on the glowy side for my personal liking, so I top it off with powder. I don’t have to do that with the original air fit. It’s also worth pointing out that the first air-fit is SPF50 and the light version is SPF30.

My impressions

I use this all over the face, neck, and around the eyes with no issues and no irritation. It plays well under makeup and on its own.

My only complaint is the SPF30. I would have preferred SPF50, even though 30 is considered adequate for daily use, especially during the colder seasons. Other than that, the formula is great, the finish is close to being my favorite, and it’s a pleasure to use. Chemical filters get all the love, mostly because the chance of a white cast is quite low. However, some people need physical ones due to individual intolerances or preferences, and I appreciate that SKIN1004 is continuously trying to improve their formulas and make them work for everyone.
