Whamisa Organic Facial Cleansing Oil Review

This post contains affiliate links. Product provided by Credithink.

I love cleansing oils and balms. Sure, there are effective 2-in-1 cleansers, but nothing is quite like melting away makeup, sunscreen, and stress at the end of a long day. And honestly, all of my days are sooo long right now.

My most recent cleansing oil is Whamisa Organic Facial Cleansing Oil. It’s available on Amazon, sold by Credithink - a trusted retailer of authentic Korean skincare. You can save 10% with my code kbhobbit10 on all their offerings. You can also buy it on YesStyle (use reward code KBHOBBIT for extra savings) or iHerb (use the code CWN6107).

How to use:

  • Gently massage 1-2 pumps of oil over dry face with dry hands

  • Add water, massage a bit more (the oil will emulsify)

  • Rinse

  • Follow with a foaming cleanser and the rest of your routine

The cleansing oil has a nice consistency - not too thick and not too runny either, and almost no scent. That last part surprised me, because all other Whamisa products I’ve tried had a very pronounced fragrance.

My impressions

I really wanted to love this oil - just look at that beautiful packaging! Unfortunately, it has a massive drawback that makes it not a good fit for me. While the oil spreads easily, has a great consistency and scent, and removes sunscreen and makeup well, it really irritates my eyes.

I use cleansing oils on the eye area even on days when I skip eye makeup, because I apply sunscreen there. And cleansing balms and oils are my favorite way to remove sunscreen. I have tried Whamisa Organic Facial Cleansing Oil at least 4 times - with different makeup on (in case it was the makeup that caused irritation) and without makeup at all. Each time the result was the same - stinging, irritated eyes. Other cleansing oils don’t do that. I keep my eyes closed while cleansing, and still this somehow permeates.

This will not be a waste - cleansing oils and balms that don’t work on my face are used to remove body sunscreen from either myself or the kids. But I would not be getting it again.

What is your favorite cleansing oil?
