Neogen Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Pad (Green Tea) Review

Updated: Oct 27, 2020

Any great skin care regimen needs regular exfoliation. Piling up even the best products on top of dead skin will not produce effective results.

The Neogen Peeling Pads (forgive me for shortening their name, it’s just so long haha) are soaked in green tea serum to help eliminate dead cells and prepare the skin for the subsequent care steps. Green tea also moisturizes. The patented design of the pads is a 100% 3-layer cotton gauze with two different sides/textures. They are available on* eBay, Amazon and Cosmetic Love.

How to use:

  1. Gently sweep over clean and dry face and neck to remove dead cells and impurities

  2. Use the rougher side first, then the softer side

  3. Rinse with warm water (not all peeling pads need rinsing, but these ones do!)

The manufacturer recommends using the pads twice a week

My impressions:

I have fair, combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry cheeks. I wouldn't call my skin sensitive, but since it’s so pale, anything rough immediately causes red marks. Physical exfoliants like scrubs are usually too rough. These Neogen pads have been a hit. I use them once a week (and usually a peeling gel for the other exfoliating day, depending on what my skin feels like).

I chose green tea variety for no other reason than I saw a couple of Youtubers say green tea kind was their favorite (there is also a lemon and a red wine option). The smell is great - mild and pleasant, hard to describe. I start with the rougher side and gently smooth that over clean dry skin, then go over with the softer side. Avoid eye area and lips. Rinse. My skin immediately feels softer and looks brighter. I love using toner then a sheet mask right after - the skin soaks in all the goodness so well.

The exfoliation is mild yet effective. I don’t have any negative effects like flaking or peeling, only brighter, more even looking skin. I’m seriously in love with these pads and will probably have to get the wine ones next (I love products with wine in them).
